तरिंशच्छतं वर्मिण इन्द्र साकं यव्यावत्यां पुरुहूत शरवस्या | वर्चीवन्तः शरवे पत्यमानाः पात्रा भिन्दानन्यर्थान्यायन

triṃśacchataṃ varmiṇa indra sākaṃ yavyāvatyāṃ puruhūta śravasyā | vṛcīvantaḥ śarave patyamānāḥ pātrā bhindānanyarthānyāyan

English Translation (Griffith)

Three thousand, mailed, in quest of fame, together, on the Yavyavati, O much-sought Indra, Vrcivan's sons, falling before the arrow, like bursting vessels went to their destruction.
