Rig Veda 6.27.1
किमस्य मदे किं वस्य पीताविन्द्रः किमस्य सख्ये चकार | रणा वा ये निषदि किं ते अस्य पुर विविद्रे किमु नूतनासः
kimasya made kiṃ vasya pītāvindraḥ kimasya sakhye cakāra | raṇā vā ye niṣadi kiṃ te asya pura vividre kimu nūtanāsaḥ
WHAT deed hath Indra done in the wild transport, in quaffing or in friendship with, the Soma? What joys have men of ancient times or recent obtained within the chamber of libation?
Rig Veda 6.27.2
सदस्य मदे सद वस्य पितविन्द्रः सदस्य सख्ये चकार | रणा वा ये निषदि सत ते अस्य पुर विविद्रे सदु नूतनासः
sadasya made sad vasya pitavindraḥ sadasya sakhye cakāra | raṇā vā ye niṣadi sat te asya pura vividre sadu nūtanāsaḥ
In its wild joy Indra hath proved him faithful, faithful in quaffing, faithful in its friendship. His truth is the delight that in this chamber the men of old and recent times have tasted.
Rig Veda 6.27.3
नहि नु ते महिमनः समस्य न मघवन मघवत्त्वस्य विद्म | न राधसो-राधसो नूतनस्येन्द्र नकिर्दद्र्श इन्द्रियं ते
nahi nu te mahimanaḥ samasya na maghavan maghavattvasya vidma | na rādhaso-rādhaso nūtanasyendra nakirdadṛśa indriyaṃ te
All thy vast power, O Maghavan, we know not, know not the riches of thy full abundance. No one hath seen that might of thine, productive of bounty every day renewed, O Indra.
Rig Veda 6.27.4
एतत तयत त इन्द्रियमचेति येनावधीर्वरशिखस्य शेषः | वज्रस्य यत ते निहतस्य शुष्मात सवनाच्चिदिन्द्र परमोददार
etat tyat ta indriyamaceti yenāvadhīrvaraśikhasya śeṣaḥ | vajrasya yat te nihatasya śuṣmāt svanāccidindra paramodadāra
This one great power of thine our eyes have witnessed, wherewith thou slewest Varasikha's children, When by the force of thy descending thunder, at the mere solund, their boldest was demolished.
Rig Veda 6.27.5
वधीदिन्द्रो वरशिखस्य शेषो.अभ्यावर्तिने चायमानाय शिक्षन | वर्चीवतो यद धरियूपीयायां हन पूर्वे अर्धे भियसापरो दर्त
vadhīdindro varaśikhasya śeṣo.abhyāvartine cāyamānāya śikṣan | vṛcīvato yad dhariyūpīyāyāṃ han pūrve ardhe bhiyasāparo dart
In aid of Abhyavartin Cayamana, Indra destroyed the seed of Varasikha. At Hariyupiya he smote the vanguard of the Vrcivans, and the rear fled frighted.
Rig Veda 6.27.6
तरिंशच्छतं वर्मिण इन्द्र साकं यव्यावत्यां पुरुहूत शरवस्या | वर्चीवन्तः शरवे पत्यमानाः पात्रा भिन्दानन्यर्थान्यायन
triṃśacchataṃ varmiṇa indra sākaṃ yavyāvatyāṃ puruhūta śravasyā | vṛcīvantaḥ śarave patyamānāḥ pātrā bhindānanyarthānyāyan
Three thousand, mailed, in quest of fame, together, on the Yavyavati, O much-sought Indra, Vrcivan's sons, falling before the arrow, like bursting vessels went to their destruction.
Rig Veda 6.27.7
यस्य गावावरुषा सूयवस्यू अन्तरू षु चरतो रेरिहाणा | स सर्ञ्जयाय तुर्वशं परादाद वर्चीवतो दैववातायशिक्षन
yasya ghāvāvaruṣā sūyavasyū antarū ṣu carato rerihāṇā | sa sṛñjayāya turvaśaṃ parādād vṛcīvato daivavātāyaśikṣan
He, whose two red Steers, seeking goodly pasture, plying their tongues move on 'twixt earth and heaven, Gave Turvaśa to Sṛñjaya, and, to aid him, gave the Vrcivans up to Daivavata.
Rig Veda 6.27.8
दवयानग्ने रथिनो विंशतिं गा वधूमतो मघवा मह्यं सम्राट | अभ्यावर्ती चायमानो ददाति दूणाशेयं दक्षिणा पार्थवानाम
dvayānaghne rathino viṃśatiṃ ghā vadhūmato maghavā mahyaṃ samrāṭ | abhyāvartī cāyamāno dadāti dūṇāśeyaṃ dakṣiṇā pārthavānām
Two wagon-teams, with damsels, twenty oxen, O Agni, Abhydvartin Cayamdna, The liberal Sovran, giveth me. This guerdon of Prthu's seed is hard to win from others.
