Sigmoid Vedanta Technologies operates the Rig Veda – Sacred Knowledge Portal — a digital platform for studying, querying and visualising the Rig Veda using a blend of vector search, retrieval-augmented generation and knowledge-graph analytics. The following description forms part of the contractual scope of the Service and is incorporated by reference into the Terms and Conditions.

1. Chat (AI conversation)

• What it does: answers natural-language questions about the Rig Veda using a large language model grounded on retrieved verses and curated explanations.
• Advantages: conversational, multilingual, can draw connections across mandalas, references the verses it relied on.
• Disadvantages: outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete (hallucination), rate-limited per tier, and not a substitute for scholarly study, religious guidance or professional advice.

2. Search (semantic + lexical)

• What it does: hybrid search across all 10,552 verses combining pgvector semantic similarity with lexical matching, ranked by a configurable weight.
• Advantages: finds verses by meaning, not just keywords; handles Sanskrit, romanised and English text.
• Disadvantages: embeddings are derived from a general-purpose multilingual model and can miss domain-specific idioms; ranking is heuristic and not authoritative.

3. Audio recitation

• What it does: streams verse-level Sanskrit recitation (where available) or a Hindi rendering as a fallback.
• Advantages: faithful auditory experience; useful for pronunciation and svara study.
• Disadvantages: coverage is incomplete (not every verse has a recording); audio quality is constrained by the source material; access requires a Pro or Pro Max subscription.

4. Verse text & explanations

• What it does: serves Sanskrit, romanised and English-translation text alongside AI-generated and human-curated explanations.
• Advantages: structured access to the entire Rig Veda; explanations are cached and improved over time.
• Disadvantages: AI explanations are illustrative, not authoritative; some translations follow Griffith and reflect late-19th-century interpretive choices.

5. Knowledge graph

• What it does: extracts entities (deities, sages, rituals, locations and other named concepts) and their relationships across all hymns; offers visualisation, filtering and entity-detail views.
• Advantages: reveals structural patterns invisible in a linear read; supports query-by-entity, focus-graph navigation and relationship-matrix overviews.
• Disadvantages: entity extraction relies on machine-learning models and may produce false positives or spurious links; available only on the Pro Max tier (or via admin override).

6. Account management & billing

• Self-service sign-up, email verification, password reset.
• Subscription management through Razorpay; cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
• Daily usage limits and allowed-mandala configuration per tier.

7. Tiers

Tier definitions, prices and limits may change. The version published at /pricing at the time of your renewal applies.

8. Service availability

The Service is provided on a commercially reasonable best-effort basis. We do not commit to a specific uptime; planned maintenance, third-party outages, model-provider rate limits and force-majeure events may affect availability.

9. Support

Support requests should be submitted through the contact form. We aim to respond to free-tier enquiries within five (5) business days and paid-tier enquiries within two (2) business days, without a binding service-level agreement.
