परो दिवा पर एना पर्थिव्या परो देवेभिरसुरैर्यदस्ति | कं सविद गर्भं परथमं दध्र आपो यत्र देवाःसमपश्यन्त विश्वे

paro divā para enā pṛthivyā paro devebhirasurairyadasti | kaṃ svid gharbhaṃ prathamaṃ dadhra āpo yatra devāḥsamapaśyanta viśve

That which is earlier than this earth and heaven, before the Asuras and Gods had being,— What was the germ primeval which the waters received where all the Gods were seen together?
